If you are not a member you can pay for your classes at the pool or if you want to do it ahead of time you can do this from the link above. You can take fitness classes using a MASA membership, daily pass, or a fitness eight session series.

No sign-up is needed for any of these fitness classes. Just attend the classes that work for you.

The fitness eight session series can be used for water fitness classes that have an instructor, such as the ones listed below or it can now be used for lap swimming or independent fitness activities. All of our exercise classes are free with a MASA membership.

Our series is good for 8 visits. It will expire one year from the date of purchase. Your visits can occur any time within the year of purchase. You do not have to come 8 times in a row. This 8 visit series currently costs $48.00. This will increase to $50.00 on January 1st, 2018.

Severe weather policy - We will cancel fitness classes whenever the Marathon School District cancels school. We do not cancel classes for other school closings that are not weather related.

Morning Water Walk/Water Exercise


7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday-Friday - Ongoing!!

MASA offers a water exercise program for men and women, combining the elements of movement and water to improve muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility as well as cardiovascular performance. This program is especially beneficial for those who have not been physically active, those who suffer from arthritis, back discomforts, and/or other physical limitations. No swimming skills are necessary. Water exercise is a low impact exercise designed for all fitness levels. The buoyancy effect of the water increases benefits by applying minimal stress on the feet, ankles, knees, and hips.

Water fitness provides more range of motion for older adults and others who may have specific movement problems. Only those participating in the class can be in the pool during this time. A year round incentive program is also offered for members.

Aqua Zumba


Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30-7:15 p.m., Saturday 8:00-8:45 a.m. - Ongoing!!

Classes are not held between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Splash your way into shape with an invigorating low impact aquatic exercise. Known as the Zumba "pool party", the Aqua Zumba program gives new meaning to the idea of a refreshing workout. Integrating the Zumba philosophy with traditional aquatic fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a workout that's cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all exhilarating beyond belief. Using a combination of exercise and aerobics techniques, you get a vigorous workout with the added resistance of water. Your instructors will occasionally add use of resistance bells or other apparatus to get specific results within the workout.

No special skills are required. Swimmers and non-swimmers alike are welcome to participate. Aqua Zumba offers a more vigorous workout while still being appropriate for beginners; you work at your own pace. Members that take this class may also take advantage of our incentive program.

Sweat Challenge and Water Warrior


Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:15 - 8:00 p.m. - Summer Only!!

These Classes will be held between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Sweat Challenge will be on Tuesdays after Zumba and Water Warrior will be on Thursdays after Zumba. Come for one or stay for both.

Sweat Challenge is a workout for all levels and abilities. You are guaranteed to get a workout that is challenging. We are using five base moves in four variations, with and without equipment.

Water Warrior is a fast paced workout moving from one move to another. It combines grounded, cardio and power moves, with and without equipment.


Water in Motion

Please attend our water in Motion Launch Party on Saturday October 27th, 2018 from 8:00-9:00 am!


These classes will be starting in fall. These classes will be worked into all of our regular fitness classes.

There is a variation for our morning fitness classes which is called the "Water in Motion Platinum".

Water in Motion will change the way you look at aqua exercise! This workout provides a low impact, high-energy challenge for participants of all ages, skill and fitness levels.

The choreography and music is refreshed every three months, so jump in and make a splash with this dynamic cardiovascular workout that tightens and tones the entire body. It's more than just another aqua class, it's a pure fun 45 minute water extravaganza!

Water in Motion offers the benefit of a high energy calorie burning workout without the pull that gravity plays on the body. Experience the cross-training effects that water provides, reducing the impact on your joints, specifically the knees and back.


Lap Swim Milestones

Here at MASA we can track the miles and lengths that you swim. Simply write down what you swim each day on the little slips by the locker room entrance and let us do the counting. We recognize you for your accomplishments after the first 50 miles and at the 100 mile mark thereafter.

Fitness and Lap Swim Incentive


Shape Up for Summer and Why Wait

The MASA Shape Up for Summer and Why Wait program is an incentive program that rewards participants for the number of times they exercise in a specified time period. The focus is to shape up for summer and why wait for the new year; START NOW!! After the 12 week program, coupons are given out after an individual reaches 30 workouts or more.

Guidelines

You may receive credit for doing any of the following activities:

  • Lap Swimming
  • Aquatic Fitness Classes (Any Instructed Class)
  • Independent Workouts (30 minutes or more of vigorous activity in the pool)

Why Wait

Sunday, September 30th - Saturday, December 22nd, 2018

12 weeks

*being we are closed during Thanksgiving for 3 days we will allow you to earn 2 days credit if you bring in a non-perishable, non-expired canned or boxed food items for the Circle of Joy during the dates of November 12th - 21st, 2018; at least one food item per day please.

Shape Up for Summer

Sunday, February 17th - Saturday, May 11th, 2019

Rules for Shape Up For Summer and Why Wait:

  • Participant must have a regular membership at MASA.
  • Must sign in, as that is how we will track your attendance.
  • Participants are credited for a legitimate workout of at least 30 minutes.
  • Participants may now be credited more than once a day if they actually leave and come back to work out again.
  • Workouts must take place at MASA.

Successful completion during the 12 weeks entitles participants to receive account credit toward MASA merchandise or money off their membership renewal the next year.

  • 30 workouts = $5.00 (on average 2.5 days a week)
  • 40 workouts = $7.50
  • 50 workouts = $10.00
  • 60 workouts = $12.50 (on average 5 days a week)
  • 70 workouts = $15.00
  • 80 workouts = $17.50 (on average 7 days a week)

NOTE:

Past Incentive Participants…you will automatically be enrolled into the new program and will not need to let us know. We only need to know if you want to be removed or are new to the incentive program.

Lap Swimmers…we will continue to track your miles as that is part of MASA's Milestone Program.

Your fitness incentive credits will be placed on your account in Mindbody and can be used whenever you purchase something at MASA including your membership renewal. Mindbody keeps track of how much credit you have on your account.

Your incentive progress is posted weekly on the bulletin board in the lobby while the 12 week incentive programs are running.

We remove you from the list if you have not participated at all during the previous incentive period or are no longer a member.

Lap swimmers can track their miles even if they are not a member of the incentive program. This is posted on the bulletin board in the pool. These miles are tracked for life. We keep your lap records even if you are not a member or are not actively swimming for a while. We do not track miles for non-members but we will retain the records from when you were a member so you can pick up where you left off when you join again. We may remove you from the printed list, but when you start swimming again your name will reappear and you will start adding miles to whatever your previous saved miles were at. Sorry, but we only include miles that you swam in the MASA pool.
